A
Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebrated in Israel is a very special experience
for the entire family. The ceremony is held amidst the stone ruins
of the 2,000-year-old Synagogue atop Masada, the mountain fortress
where the Jewish Zealots held out against mighty Rome. There is
also a private service at Yad Vashem, with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah children
participating. The celebration culminates with a banquet dinner
at the King David Hotel where the children receive special gifts
and a certificate from the Ministry of Tourism to commemorate the
occasion.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies can also be held at the Western Wall, at Robinson’s Arch, in the Jerusalem Archaeological Park, or at a synagogue in Jerusalem. In preparation for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the children receive their Torah readings to study.
In
Israel, you travel throughout the country. You explore the Old City
of Jerusalem, swim in the Dead Sea, hike to the waterfall of Ein
Gedi, take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, participate in an
archaeological dig, go kayaking on the Jordan River, visit catacombs
and caves, see Roman and Crusader ruins, take an exciting jeep ride
through the Golan Heights and much, much more. To mark your visit
to Israel, you mayplant a tree in a Jewish National Fund forest.
My
groups stay in deluxe rooms at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem,
within walking distance of the Old City and at the centrally located
Dan Hotels in Haifa and Tel Aviv. One night is spent at a kibbutz
guest-house to experience this unique lifestyle.
For
a vacation you will never forget, come with me to Israel.
